Together with the National Pork Board, we developed AgView, a cutting-edge contact-tracing platform designed to mitigate the devastating economic impacts of foreign animal disease outbreaks in the U.S. swine industry. The platform was created to provide real-time data sharing between producers and state animal health officials, enabling rapid response and containment of potential outbreaks.
AgView: A Product Management Triumph in Disease Control
The U.S. pork industry faces significant risks from foreign animal diseases like African swine fever, which could cause billions of dollars in losses over a decade. Traditional methods of disease tracking and containment were slow and ineffective, necessitating a modern solution to protect the industry’s future.

As part of the product management team, we guided the development of AgView through its entire lifecycle, from ideation to release and adoption. This involved detailed planning and execution in the following phases:
- Product Development: Collaborated on defining the platform’s core features, including data sharing, movement tracking, and incident management, ensuring alignment with the industry’s needs.
- Design and UX: Crafted intuitive user interfaces that allowed producers and health officials to easily navigate the platform and access critical information.
- Integration and Testing: Worked closely with development teams to integrate existing farm data systems and conducted rigorous testing to ensure the platform’s reliability and security.
- Release and Adoption: Led the launch efforts, including user training and onboarding, to facilitate widespread adoption among producers and state officials.
“AgView establishes a single ‘gathering spot’ for producer-controlled data that will help create a more unified and faster response to a foreign animal disease.”
